Starting in 2025, Zurich Insurance will be our new partner for accident, sick pay (KTG), and household insurance. This change enables us to offer you lower premiums and coverage without minimum fees:
- No minimum fee: The monthly minimum UVG fee of CHF 8.35 is completely eliminated.
- Lower premiums: Occupational accident insurance (BU) will be 0.423% (previously 0.5%), and non-occupational accident insurance (NBU) will be 1.238% (previously 1.6%).
At the same time, we’re updating our service fees for the first time in 10 years:
- Start: 10 CHF per employee per month, plus 8% commission
- Comfort: 150 CHF per year, plus 5% commission
- Flat: 990 CHF per year, plus 0% commission
What are the accident insurance deductions?
For your employees, quitt always provides compulsory occupational accident insurance (BU) and, for employees working 8 or more hours per week, also non-occupational accident insurance (NBU). Previously, the minimum UVG fees (for both BU and NBU) were each 100 CHF per year (8.35 CHF per month). Starting in 2025, these minimum fees will be completely eliminated.
For premiums exceeding the minimum amount of 100 CHF, the current premium rates are 0.5% for BU and 1.6% for NBU, based on the gross wage. These rates will be reduced to 0.42% for BU and 1.24% for NBU in the new year.
Calculation example
Mrs. Müller employs a domestic helper with an hourly wage of 32 CHF, working 8 hours per week. This results in an annual wage of 12’902.40 CHF (32 CHF * 8 working hours * 4.2 working weeks * 12 months).
Currently, the total labor costs for this employment contract, under the "Comfort" plan, amount to 14’794.20 CHF in 2024. Due to the elimination of the UVG minimum fees and the reduction in contribution rates, the BU fees decrease from 100 CHF to 54.58 CHF, and the NBU fees decrease from 206.40 CHF to 159.73 CHF.
Mrs. Müller saves a total of 62.31 CHF per year despite the increase in the annual subscription. Of this, 15.64 CHF is in employer savings, while the domestic helper benefits from an increased net salary of 54.58 CHF.
Conclusion
For most of our customers, total costs (service fees plus insurance costs) will decrease. In some cases, the "Start" plan may see a slight increase in costs. However, the Start plan is generally suitable only for mid-year entry into the quitt service or short-term employment. For permanent employment contracts, the "Comfort" plan is recommended in all cases from the new year onwards.
