In the event of illness: The continued payment of wages is covered by the KTG insurance (if such insurance has been taken out). If no KTG insurance has been taken out, then the obligation to continue to pay wages no longer applies and the employees no longer receive any wages. If an employer wishes to terminate the contract in the event of long-term illness, this is possible, taking into account the blocking period.
After an accident: The continued payment of wages is covered by the accident insurance (UVG is obligatory). This applies to an occupational accident. In the case of a non-occupational accident, it must first be clarified whether insurance coverage is provided (NBU coverage is mandatory for more than eight hours per week).
After termination of the KTG and UVG daily allowance payments, a transfer to the IV insurance is possible. Employees are contacted directly by the IV office for this purpose.
